JOB TITLE: Epidemiologist

TRAVEL: As required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position

ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of ASRT, Inc. and will be assigned to the Mycotic Diseases Branch (MDB), Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases (DFWED), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), at the CDC, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA, to provide epidemiological and laboratory capacity support.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Epidemiologist will participate as a team member with MDB staff to provide written materials, determining that deliverables are being provided on time and within budget, and organizing periodic conference calls with Contractor to assess progress.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting curricula for international training courses, approximately 3 – 5 per year.
  • Logistical organization epidemiology and laboratory training, working within the program infrastructure to engage appropriate staff for technical and programmatic feedback.
  • Creating scientific abstracts for poster presentations for conferences.
  • Coordinating international delegation visits to DFWED by contacting senior leadership to put agenda together.
  • Communicating with and responding to international partners.
  • Responding to all public inquires including but not limited to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
  • Preparing a variety of routine and advanced correspondence including but not limited to letters, memoranda, and reports.
  • Maintaining and monitoring project tracking and reporting system, including data entry, tracking, and generating reports representing current and projected status and operation forecast.
  • Analyzing data and information to develop practices, procedures, and reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Master of Public Health (MPH), or Master's degree with a concentration in public health.

Required:

  • 2-4 years of work experience in public health.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Quantitative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, intrapersonal, writing and speaking skills for working with an interdisciplinary team including scientific and non-scientific collaborators.
  • Experience preparing written documents and giving oral presentations.

Desirable:

  • Strong background in data management and program evaluation.
  • Global health and health communication experience is desirable.

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

REQUIREMENT:

  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States.
