JOB TITLE: Public Health Policy Analyst

TRAVEL: As required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position

ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of ASRT, Inc., and will be assigned to the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention (DHDSP), National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), at the CDC, located at 4770 Buford Highway NE, Chamblee Campus, Atlanta, GA 30341 to provide services to satisfy the health communications objectives for PDSB within DHDSP.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Public Health Policy Analyst will develop provide research, analysis and coordination support for programs in DHDSP's Program Evaluation, Research and Communications (PERC) Branch. The Health Communications Specialist will work collaboratively with members across the Branch to provide technical assistance and support in the planning, development, of routine policy, partnership, and health communication information requests related to heart disease and stroke prevention initiatives conducted by PERC.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the response to routine policy, partnership, and health communication information requests related to heart disease and stroke prevention including coordination of information collection and research, writing/editing and obtaining reviews within deadlines.
  • Develop policy and partnership materials that communicate the division's priorities, programs, outcomes and impacts for use by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide research, analysis, and coordination support to 3-5 policy and partnership projects including project plan, monthly status reports on the projects; associated talking points and presentation needs; and supporting materials.
  • Partner meeting travel and attendance- Contractor might be authorized to travel with CDC staff to provide technical support/assistance to CDC and partner organizations. Contractor travel cannot take place unless specifically authorized in writing by the Contracting Officer and funded via contract modification.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration/Policy, or related field with at least 1 year of related experience working in policy and partnership at/with CDC, federal or related public health entity, OR a

Bachelor's degree in health, science, policy, or communications with at least 3 years of documented experience working in policy and partnership at/with CDC, federal or related public health entity.

Required:

Previous experience in a similar role required.

Capabilities, expertise and experience in policy and partnerships.

Health literacy, including literacy and numeracy.

Demonstrates clear communication and plain language skills.

Strong writer/editor skills required.

Experience in health communication and developing policy materials.

Language Skills:

The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

REQUIREMENT:

Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States.
